The coverages are excellent. I've never had to file a claim in my multiple times purchasing travel insurance so I believe the coverage is expensive. On the other hand, the peace of mind compensates for that. I highly recommend the insurance, you never know what could/might happen.

I purchased the basic travel plan with the full intention of never needing to use it....and wanting to be prudent. Frankly, one never knows exactly what is covered until one has to use it. It is difficult for me to rate the plan without at least some scenarios where the coverage is detailed. And, of course, there is a problem with this, too, as people have to read the scenarios. Insurance plans are written by lawyers and those of us not trained in the law have great difficulty knowing exactly what the plan will do.

Fortunately, I didn't have to use the insurance, but it provided peace of mind. One thing that I really liked is that it was primary coverage. I wouldn't have had to involve any other insurance I might have had.

Thakfully, we did not need to use the Travelex Insurance we purchased but it was re-assuring that we had the coverage had we needed it. If I were to travel in the future and especially plan another family trip, I would definitley purchase travel insurance from Travelex. The peace of mind was worth the expense.

One never knows when they are planning to travel if they will need it (hopefully won't) and we were glad we did have it. We have a son in a wheel chair that went with us and we felt that we needed that extra peace of mind that if something should happen, we would have the extra care we might need.

Nobody wants to have to file a claim. This was a trip to Alaska and a long way from home. Four long flights. Anything could happen. And what if something happened in interior Alaska or on the cruise. It was great piece of mind. Absolutely no regrets!

A portion of our trip involving offshore flights was cancelled due to weather. The tour company refunded essentially all of the trip cost ($4K), but retained an "administrative fee" (whatever that is) of $80. I filed a claim for this and it was paid promptly and without any hassles. A tiny claim to be sure, but it was handled efficiently and is the only basis upon which I can make a report.

Watch the deadline dates for coverage. We missed it by a day so could not get the coverage we wanted at the price points we were willing to pay!
