Travel Insurance Reviews TravelSafe Basic

Basic is the most economical of the two TravelSafe plans and may be ideal if you are traveling on a budget. Coverages offered include Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption for basic perils, Baggage, Travel Delay, Medical, and Emergency Medical Evacuation. This plan offers an optional Extended Personal Property Pac, if eligible, which removes exclusions for professional or occupational equipment and some electronics.

TravelSafe Basic
Claim was mailed to Trip Mate on 10/03/17. Case was closed by Trip Mate 11/27/17 and claim was approved. Refund check was dated 11/27/17. Envelope was post marked 12/01/17. Received on 12/07/17. Why does it take 2 months to get this done?! The premium is required to be paid within 14 days of the initial deposit, in order for the pre existing conditions to be waived. All documentation to proof the claim was provided. In the age of electronics why is this so cumber some?! Looks like what's good for goose is Not good for the gander?!
Dietrich Z. would recommend this plan to a friend or relative.

Thank you for submitting your 5 star review and your comments regarding the claims process. TravelSafe has asked us to thank their customers and express their appreciation for their patience in this lengthy process.

Trip Mate, who handled your claim on behalf of TravelSafe, generally expected to finalize your claim and provide payment within 30 days or less of receiving your claim. Unfortunately an intense hurricane season increased the number of claims and delayed that turnaround time period from 60 to 90 days. As you know, Hurricane Irma struck from August 30th to September 12th; Hurricane Jose ranged from September 5th to September 21st; and Hurricane Maria from September 16th to September 30th.

Once again, we thank you for your patience. Please feel free to call InsureMyTrip at (800) 487-4722 if you have additional questions.
