Filing a claim is the only way one can judge an insurance company. Unfortunately, my trip was cancelled secondary to snowy conditions. Getting the claim paid was an adventure in itself. I had just about enough when they insisted that they need my 8 year old's signature! The claim finally got paid when I threatened to file a complaint with government agencies.

The plan was quite reasonable for 2 travelers of our age. The coverage looked to be very adequate if we needed to use it. The peace of mind was worth the premium.

Nothing to review.....I didn't have to use the Nationwide Prime policy. Reviews are not really good until you have to make a claim. THEN you see how good the company really is.

We felt secure in having this insurance. We have used Nationwide before and several years ago needed to file a claim which was paid promptly and refunded our money for a cruise we were unable to take because of a stroke my husband suffered two weeks before our cruise.

I didn't have anything to file, but liked the policy since I had high medical which is needed, as I am on Medicare which does not pay if out of the country .

I have always purchased trip cancellation insurance, this is the first time I've ever needed it. My nephew died very suddenly, and of course I needed to stay to be with my sister and her family to help with funeral arrangements. I was able to get the costs back from the cruise line, but it did not cover the additional fare I had to pay to go at a later date, in a higher season, but that was my choice to go later in summer. The airline allowed a full change without penalty, which I was unaware they do, with a copy of the obituary. But I will continue to cover the airfare in case I have to pay airfare home if something happens mid-trip and have to purchase a fare home. Everyone at Nationwide was wonderful to work with, very empathetic and really cared about my circumstances.

I usually don't buy trip insurance, but this was for a cruise and it seemed like a good idea in this case. I was surprised to see how inexpensive and complete the coverage was, and the name Nationwide gave me confidence. I think the most relevant review is for InsureMyTrip. The website made it remarkably easy to find what I wanted and comparison shop. The fact is, I probably would not have gotten insurance at all if it wasn't facilitated by InsureMyTrip.
