Not being privy to revenue and claims data, it is impossible to assess whether the price paid is a fair trade. Arguably, no one seeks to make a claim on insurance, but if something were to go wrong, no doubt that one would rather reduce their losses. As I did not need to make a claim, I have no information to share regarding a claims experience.

It was nice to go away with insurance, in case we needed it. Thank goodness, we didn't. It was close though, as our departure flight was close to being cancelled due to maintenance issues. But we took off, albeit 2 hours late.

Fortunately I didn't have to file a claim. All went well on our trip to Iceland. The two things that can say about this plan was first, peace of mind knowing that if I had issues they would be taken care of. Second the ease in purchasing and cost of purchasing the coverage. I will not hesitate purchasing this type of travelers insurance for future trips.

Very shortly after my trip, I used the email listed on the Insure My Trip site to request information from the insurer on how to file a trip delay claim. After a week with no reply, I tried emailing a 2nd time and then did receive a relatively quick reply with the information I needed to file my claim. The review email indicating they had approved part of my claim was received in a timely fashion thereafter. Apparently, I need to be more careful in how I read policies - as their interpretation of 'one time delay' meant that they will only reimburse me for expenses on the outgoing OR the return trip. Thankfully, a relatively small amount of money is involved by this interpretation - but it's disappointing that an airline can so horrendously delay us on both legs of a round-trip and discover that only one leg is covered.

Thankfully, I did not have to use the insurance but I was confident that I made a wise choice because the coverage was better and the cost was 1/2 of what I would have paid through the cruise line or the travel agent.

Thankfully, we did not have to file a claim as our trip to GB came off without a hitch. I had purchased extra coverage for the rental car and glad to have done so. Drivers in England are apparently fearless and drive like Formula 1 racers. We had a close call and I was kept thinking "I'm so glad I purchased extra coverage." We wouldn't go overseas without purchasing trip insurance. We have used Insure My Trip in the past and are very pleased with the ease and cost for having the extra peace of mind that this coverage provides.
