The Silver plan is the mid-level policy offered by John Hancock and may be ideal for families traveling with children, as kids 17 and under are free as long as one parent is covered under the plan. Coverage is offered if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a typical covered reason which can range from an unforeseen illness, injury or death to your destination being made uninhabitable by a natural disaster. The Silver plan does offer higher limits of coverage than the Bronze plan for Baggage, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

Peace of mind, but very expensive plan, if someone has to cover 6-8 trips a year comes out to be too expensive.

We were glad to have medical coverage, even happier not to need it. The auto insurance was needed only to avoid more costly charges at the rental counter.

Fortunately, I did not have the need to file a claim during my travels. However, the process of purchasing the policy was easy, and I was able to obtain the coverage I needed for my trip. The price was reasonable and the agent that helped me was responsive to my questions. I would consider using the John Hancock policy again in the future.

Value for the money spent. Service/support was easy to reach and accommodated our requests. We have used this Hancock Silver plan before and would readily use them again.

Since I had no claims I cannot comment on how responsive the company is. I had a damaged suitcase and it was not covered by this plan, only issue traveling.

The best travel insurance offers good and appropriate coverage at a reasonable price...then goes unused because your insured trip goes really well and you don't need to file a claim.

Thankfully, I didn't need to use the insurance coverage, but it gave me peace of mind knowing that if something happened I would be covered. I will always use this when traveling out of the country.
