There are no deductibles on claims and you can customize a personal plan by adding optional coverages including Trip Cancellation for Any Reason, rental car coverage and increased Common Carrier Accidental Death and Dismemberment limits.

If you are taking a cruise or a well-planned vacation, the John Hancock Silver travel insurance plan is a good insurance option to include in your travel plans. If your trip is delayed en route to or from your destination for 3 hours or more, the Silver plan includes benefits to help with unexpected out-of-pocket arrangements. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! I paid extra for the cancel for any reason. My trip has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus and a travel ban to the country I was trying to go to. I was told cancel for any reason would get me 75% of my money back. My booking site is shut down due to the virus and I filed a claim on March 31st (over 3 months ago) Called them multiple times. Emailed with them multiple times. They still haven't refunded me. I could only imagine what they would do if there was a true emergency. Save your money and look for other companies that stand by their word and care about their clients. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

This is the first time I've had to file a travel insurance claim. While it took longer than I had hoped, I am pleased to say that my claim was handled with competence and care. My first phone call was pleasant and I received the information I needed to file my claim. I did try to include all the necessary documents the first time around, but I didn't have exactly everything needed. The follow up request for more specific documentation was reasonable. I felt that the company was merely doing their due diligence in making this request, for which I appreciate the need. I would be willing to use this company again.

Did not file a claim even though the cruise ship ruined my husband's carry on suitcase handle. Didn't realize it until we got home. Grabbed it at terminal and put in car and headed home. Didn't check it over then. Our fault. So can't file with insurance or the cruise line as it's to late now.
