I did not have to file a claim; however, it gave me and my family peace of mind when I traveled to Cancun alone to get some dental work done. I will purchase it again for my second visit to Cancun in December to complete my dental work.

I am the type never to buy travel insurance. However, as this trip was more on the expensive side, i decided to insure it as i had elderly in laws coming along. I went with Nationwide as they are a big reputable insurance company and covered what i would need.
I am so glad i did buy insurance as one of my in laws suffered a stroke prior to the trip and had to make a claim. I tried calling and did get a hold of a representative who told me to file my claim online or mailing it in. I did my claim via the online portal. Uploaded what documents they needed and claimed was processed. Be forewarned though is communication is extremely scant. All you will receive is acknowledgement that your claim was received. A few weeks later i got checks for the amount i was claiming. Overall, satisfied but communication is extremely lacking. Document everything!!!

I will never *not* get travel insurance. We had a Covid scare [possible exposure] shortly before leaving town; also, we missed one connection (which, oddly, got us a reduced fare). So while I never had to file a claim, I sure slept better knowing we could have.

Submitted a claim for Morocco and cancelling the trip due to the earthquake. The policy seemed pretty straight forward; however, when I filed the claim, they asked for more detailed documentation. Some things, like the airfare with cost, dates and name I did provide, I do not know what more documentation they wished. Luckily, the travel group I went with refunded the trip. I was not aware I bought a refunded airline ticket so that ended up not being a problem. I was only out train fare, so I did not pursue further through the insurance company. The policy appeared more complicated and not as easy as I had hoped. But again, I did not finish the process but feel they just ask for more information knowing, statistically, people will not follow up/through.
