Offering the highest coverage limits of the three plans provided by John Hancock, the Gold plan offers the most included coverage as well as optional upgrades. This plan offers Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption, as well as many other coverages including Missed Connection and Itinerary Change. These coverages could come in handy if a covered common carrier delay causes you to miss your cruise departure or if your travel supplier changes your covered trip itinerary after your departure date.

Didn't have to use it, but it was comforting to have it. We had a near miss when the air traffic controllers staged a 4 hour protest strike in Athens. Fortunately it was a brief stoppage and our flight was only delayed. We were still able to make the connection in NY.

Never have used any of the policies bought to travel abroad, so cannot evaluate them.
Not rated 5 stars only because policies offered included many risks I can take myself.
I am looking for a policy that would cover only inpatient hospitalization.It would be much cheaper.
If I die abroad, I do not care about my remains been shipped to USA or anywhere else.

thank god I did not have to use it but I had piece of mind that I had it.
4 years ago I had to file a claim when my husband got ill prior to the trip and I got a full refund. nothing like having piece of mind while in remote countries.

I'm a US citizen over 65 and on Medicare which does not provide any medical coverage outside the US (except for the once in a life time $50K amount provided by my supplemental plan) I chose this Gold plan for it's PRIMARY medical coverage for a one month trip to New Zealand. Fortunately I did not have to file any claims, so I cannot rate the service. Plan was competitively priced for features and coverage.
