At their headquarters in Pennsylvania they are constantly looking for ways to make their customers’ travel experience even more worry-free. One area of focus was developing a 24-hour travel assistance hotline for their customers.

This hotline allows their insureds to call before and during their trip to receive answers to questions they may have on their plans, their travel destinations and the claims process. The goal of TravelSafe is to make every customers’ travel insurance experience as stress-free as possible.

I did not have to file a claim so I really can't judge. The real test is how they respond to a claim but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I bought the plan primarily for health cost coverage in Europe, and car rental losses. Upon receipt of the plan I discovered that Mercedes cars were excluded from coverage because they are considered luxury cars. In Europe, Avis/Budget rents a B160 Mercedes that is comparable to a fully loaded Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic. I rented the car "class" because I drive only automatic transmissions. So I cancelled the car insurance coverage portion and promptly received a refund. For coverage I used my United Airlines credit car primary coverage, and I requested a letter describing the coverage from the credit card company to show Avis/Budget. No damage so no claims. It all worked out well.
