TravelSafe Classic Plus

The TravelSafe Classic Plus plan offers identical benefits to the Classic plan with regards to the amount of its trip protection benefits, but It is truly set apart from the other plans because of the availability of the Cancel for Any Reason benefit.

You never know when something may come up, covered or not, causing you to have to cancel your travel plans. For example, if a friend or pet were to become ill or injured, trip cancellation coverage would not cover you as those are not on the list of covered perils. Therefore, coverage would fall under Cancel for Any Reason.

If you are considering taking advantage of the Cancel for Any Reason coverage, you’ll want to be aware of the eligibility requirements. In order to qualify to add this benefit, you must purchase the plan within 21 days of your initial trip payment. Also, you must insure all pre-paid travel arrangements that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions. If you fit these two requirements, then you can add the benefit to the plan.

Cancel for Any Reason coverage will reimburse up to 75% of your insured trip cost if you choose to cancel your trip. You can cancel your trip up to 48 hours before your trip departure. If you need to cancel within the 48 hours prior to departing, you are only eligible to do so due to a standard trip cancellation covered reason.

Well worth the peace of mind if something were to happen.
Claim was settled within 60 days, I think that was very reasonable considering the experience I have had with other travel insurers.

We filed a claim in October 2017, for a November 2017 cruise that we cancelled. There were several hurricanes that increased their response time, which is understandable, but We had "cancel for any reason" insurance and we didn't receive our insurance reimbursement until April 2018. It took 6 months to go through the claim process. They would say they needed additional information and then two weeks later they would ask for new information that they could have asked for in the previous contact - it seemed like they were trying to delay resolution of our claim. They took so long that they threatened they were going to close our claim request because we provided an "invalid" cruise reservation number - it turns out it wasn't invalid at all, it was archived by the cruise line since it was so many months after the actual cruise date. They did pay the amount we expected, but taking 6 months to pay us is way too long.
