Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
In searching for travel insurance before my trip I found insure my trip. I determined that it provided exactly what I wanted and needed for a reasonable price. Although, I had checked with my very good health insurance company and determined I was also covered by them I wanted the extra protection coverage. It made a difference when I was abroad knowing I was well covered with health insurance. I am fortunate that I didn't have to file a claim but the peace of mind was nice.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
This plan had a more reasonable cost. They sent clear information about coverage and sent us a reminder with important contact numbers prior to our trip. Fortunately, all went smoothly and we did not need it which is the best outcome!

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Choice Cruise
We should have consulted an insurance agent or travel agent prior to purchase as this was too costly and the one offered with the cruise line was much more reasonable.

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection ExactCare
We have been purchasing travel insurance for years but never felt the need for a review. On our last trip there was an accident at home to a family member. We needed to get home in a hurry from Japan. Made it to the bedside within hours of her passing. Filed a claim for "trip interruption" with BHTP. They were very responsive to all calls and emails, and paid the claim in full. Could not have gone any better notwithstanding the sadness of the event.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
First time I ever needed to file a claim for travel insurance and it was for medical care on the ship. Took awhile to submit the claim since it had to be denied by my primary health insurance first. After all of that was completed, the time C&F had the claim was short and paid promptly in full. Happy that they paid it all as it amounted to almost $2400!

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
My claim was eventually paid after 9-12 weeks, but the experience was horrible. C&F's website apparently doesn't work properly (they alleged they couldn't see some uploaded documents that were in my claims folder, yet saw others of the same format with no problem.) It took multiple calls, emails, and complaints via the website help desk to get my unresponsive claim adjuster moving on my claim or to even respond to documentation. As an insurance claims professional (P&C) myself, I was incredibly displeased and it got to the point where I said I wanted all communication in writing in case I had to purse this further. Suddenly, my claim was paid. I had a previous travel insurance claim in 2013 with another carrier that went perfectly. I just cannot recommend C&F after this experience. The product is fine, the service is horrendous.
