Tokio Marine HCC Medical Insurance Atlas International
This plan does not work outside the country, you first have to pay yourself, then you may or may not pay me. This plan is a rip off

    Thank you for your review. In the US you may present your medical identification card to your physician or other health provider who would require minimal, if any, payment up front. However, travel medical insurance is different. First of all, Tokio Marine HCC is not Primary coverage which would pay FIRST before any other collectible insurance. It is Secondary coverage that would reimburse you only after any other Primary collectible insurance has paid the claim and the Primary policies' limits have been exhausted. There is also a Pre-existing Condition exclusion with a 2 year look back period that must be reviewed before Tokio Marine HCC would pay their share of your claim.

    We regret that you were disappointed in the handling of your claim. However, it is important that travelers understand that along with the coverage that your travel medical plan provides, there are also limitations which may be reviewed prior to purchasing your policy.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
As with all insurance, it was extremely expensive. It would have been a gamble for me not to purchase insurance. It is just one of those situations where you pay a lot of money for something you didn't need but did not dare risk not having it. A person on our tour did end up in the hospital so if that had been me, I would have been grateful to have had the insurance.

    Premiums for comprehensive policies are based largely on the length of the trip, the ages of the travelers, and the cost of the trip. Unfortunately, as we get older, the premium increases, but as you indicated, you would not want to travel without it!

Generali Global Assistance Standard
I bought the policy for my mom, who was nervous about a trip. I thought the policy was overpriced, but I didn't have a lot of time to research and wanted to put mom at ease. Did not use the policy so don't know how responsive the insurer's would have been. Did have peace of mind.

I consider myself fortunate since I do not need to file a claim, which was my expectation. As most people, I applied for coverage just in case it was needed.

When I applied for coverage, I considered your rate fair, but later on I learned from another member in my group, that she had coverage for half the price I got from you. Yes, it hurt. Her agent also searched for the best rate, as you do, so I must admit that it leaves me wondering.
