We submitted a claim for a non-refundable tour in a port we missed due to high winds. Claim reported 2/4/14 by phone, forms submitted and received 2/6/14, notified by phone on 2/16/14 that we will receive a check within 5-7 business days. Easy process.

GeoBlue Trekker Essential
Although we didn't have any medical problems on our trip, we felt that the coverage would get us through emergencies while abroad. It is a good insurance policy for the unexpected, and I recommend it.

As a buying platform, it was super easy to compare similar plans. I would recommend it to any traveler who wants to suppliment their primary health insurance. I bought this policy because I didn't want to be unpleasantly surprised should I have a medical emergency.

I am thankful that our trip went well and we did not have to use the insurance! The peace of mind is priceless. My 91 year old father in law had a hospital stay and my 88 year old mother in law fell down the stairs a few days before our departure. Fortunately, both events ended up not being too serious and our trip did not have to be cancelled. But it was a good feeling when these occurred to know that we were covered should we have been prevented from taking our journey!

Generali Global Assistance Standard
This was my 3rd purchase of CSA insurance through IMT and the purchase experience has always been positive with fast response.

This is the first time I've had to file a claim with CSA. Our flight was delayed for several hours and baggage was lost for 2 days. When we returned home, I flied the claim and included all requested documentation which was scanned in and clearly labeled. The claim was under $100. After a week of not even an acknowledgement of receipt from CSA, I had to email twice before learning no one had yet had a chance to review the claim. When they did respond, they twice requested documentation I'd already sent (which I then resent), and each email required 3-4 days for a response.

In the end, after about 4 weeks, I received the requested reimbursement, but if they were more responsive and organized it sure would make the process less painful and luckily I wasn't out of a lot of money. It's good coverage at a reasonable price, but if you have a claim be prepared for frustration and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised.
