I say I was satisfied and the plan had good coverage based on the words in the policy. Of course, there is no way to tell unless a claim is filed and paid. I would probably consider AIG again for my next trip, and, honestly, hope I never need to find out how fast and effective the claims process is.

Generali Global Assistance Preferred
The claim process was inordinately complicated and onerous. However, after we had jumped through all the (many) hoops, the claim was honored.

I can only vouch that the insurance premiums for the coverage is a very good value. Having travel insurance provides much peace of mind. However, a truly valid review is one from a customer who has filed a claim with Nationwide, and I have not.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
We experience multiple flight delays, lost baggage and even missed our cruise embarkation.
The online process is very cumbersome and they ask for ridiculous information "like a copy of your homeowners" policy when "trying" to fill out a claim. The process is very difficult and there are tons of information outside of the basic information you'd assume they'd require for a claim. Unless you fill and download the entire form, it will not even let you submit any of it. I called and emailed Generali's customer service several times with no help. In fact, I was pretty much told my claim would probably be denied without even submitting it. Even though, we missed our ship and had to fly into a different port than embarkation with no luggage to catch the ship the second day. I really feel they make the process so difficult on purpose and offer little help or concern if you call a representative. I basically just gave up! even though I had much proof of the delays, lost luggage, car rental to port and missing the embarkation. Waste of money!!!

GeoBlue provides all of the essential coverage that we needed. They also do a terrific job of communicating what is covered and where to obtain medical help that is directly covered via your plan.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Choice Cruise
Especially traveling during hurricane season, I felt relieved knowing we had this policy. Fortunately we were lucky and everything went perfectly. I purchased this policy for our next cruise as well as the peace of mind is great knowing they are easy to work with if things don't go as planned.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
Our needs changed long after we set up the insurance coverage and still well before our departure date. The plan would not allow us to increase our coverage.

Also, we had two assigments to fulfill on our trip. As a complete surprise, both of these assignments collapsed due to factors in at our England destination. This entirely changed our travel plans and needs but I am not clear as to whether we would have been covered had we decided to cancel our travel.

    Thank you for your comments. Generali did decline to increase your total trip cost because the shipping expense would not be considered part of your travel arrangements.

    In order to cancel a trip and receive reimbursement for your prepaid expenses, you must cancel for a covered reason.

    The number one covered reason for Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption is the unforeseen illness or injury of you or a traveling companion that deems you unfit to travel, by order of a licensed physician; or the unforeseen hospitalization or death of a family member.
