Went to Canada for a week. Was having a good time and wanted to stay 2 more days, but, due to the policy not allowing an extension I was forced to cut my time short or take out another policy with another policy fee. Due to this I went home earlier than I wanted to. Next time I will use another company.

This was the first time I've had to file a trip insurance claim. Understandably, there was a lot of documentation to provide to the insurance company, but it helped a lot that the insurance company was clear on what was needed and responded to any questions I had.

We ended up wasting our money buying the insurance... but that was the bestest outcome ! We left on our vacation with the peace of mind that, if an unforeseen circumstance occurred, all the boxes were checked to protect us. Thanks for your service.

Fortunately, we did not need to file a claim. The coverage in this policy gave us peace of mind when traveling out of the country. We like the fact that coverage could be increased as trip planning took place over several months.

The only reason Nationwide paid up is because an advocate from insuremytrip.com contacted them after they denied my claim. Nationwide asked me for more and more details and I kept sending them what they asked for but they kept asking for the same things over and over again. When you call Nationwide, you cannot speak with anyone who who is familiar with your claim. You can only talk to someone who tells you that the adjuster needs more time and more info but they cannot provide you with any specifics. My case was as simple as possible (trip payment and airfare) yet Nationwide managed to make it an extremely complicated with multiple proofs of payment, proofs of no refunds made, proofs of trip itinerary with exact dates, etc. The person I talked to at cbconnect said that is because there is so much fraud in the travel insurance business. I believe it is because they try to wear you down so you just give up.

Difficult to provide good analysis of the plan unless there was a claim and we had no issues during our trip so no claim requested. Did seem a bit costly yet it was recommended by a friend from a previous trip they had (which they also had no claim).
