It was quick and easy to get the coverage I needed. Fortunately for me, I did not have to use it but felt more comfortable knowing I had coverage as needed. Policy I chose was reasonably priced and provided all the coverages I needed.

Initially paid for coverage. Then realized I was over insured as husband had paid for refundable airfare. Called to cancel since it was still within the trial window. Was advised they could offer same coverage but for lower amount and then refund me the difference with a paper check. Got the check a week or two later. Didn’t have to file claim. Did have to wait a long time to talk with an agent but they had a in queue call back system.

Dig Deep before you purchase insurance from this company…look at reviews from individuals who have filed claims and you’ll see a consistent pattern…lots of poor reviews, unresponsive, and lack of a positive recommendation. IMT gives them a decent rating because most people don’t file a claim and report only ‘easy purchase’ and “peace of mind.” Their processes and procedures are extremely slow and unresponsive— taking stances that keep their money and ignoring submissions from legitiment medical professionals. Do not buy this travel insurance. We have filed a complaint with our state’s insurance department and employed legal consul to light a fire under them. Embarrassing that IMT recommends them.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
After experiencing significant challenges with Nationwide during a claim process that stemmed from a 28-hour flight delay, including bureaucratic hurdles and a lack of clear communication which led to a disappointing compensation outcome, I initially rated my experience quite poorly. However, two weeks following my initial review, Nationwide took the initiative to reach out. In this follow-up, they offered a more detailed explanation of the claims process. Additionally, they provided additional benefits which, while not fully compensating for additional costs incurred, reflected a degree of consideration and customer care that was previously absent.

This proactive approach and willingness to engage and address customer concerns have significantly altered my perception of Nationwide. While the initial experience was far from satisfactory, the subsequent effort to rectify issues demonstrates a commitment to customer satisfaction that should be acknowledged. Still, Nationwide can improve its initial claims process and communication, they are willing to listen to feedback and take steps to improve their customer's experience. While not entirely satisfied, I would consider using them again.
