I purchased the insurance just in case and we were in Los Angeles when travel things started getting shut down. Although I made it home right on time, I felt good knowing I had purchased the insurance! It just helps relieve the stress!

With my trip ending the day that Disney World decided they would close due to health concerns, I am so glad I decided on trip insurance. Had the trip been planned even a few days later I would have been out a lot of money if it weren't for insurance.

Having no claim makes rating the coverage and service from General mute. But having coverage does give assurance of protecting the family from unlikely but possible expensive medical expenses.

My only complaint is that when I tried to file a claim for delayed trip, I was put on hold for over an hour. I finally received a call back the day after and now my policy is expired. My flight got cancelled and when it was rescheduled I had to go to a different airport..that being said I had to take my rental car to the original airport and get an uber to drive us to LAX from Long Beach Airport. I believe I should have been reimbursed for the uber expense since it was due to the cancelled flight and change of airports by Southwest Airlines.

This travel insurance plan contains good coverage for most aspects of our travel. In my opinion the price of travel insurance in general is too high. Five percent of the trip cost would be more reasonable than the normal ten percent.
Don’t need some of the coverages on the policy as we have the same insurance elsewhere.
We rarely needed to make a claim as we were able to reschedule cancelled trips with the trip provider with no loss of $$$$.
Do recommend travel insurance for the medical coverage as USA medical insurance does not cover you out of the country.

Nationwide communicated with me just before my trip to remind me of how to contact them if needed, as well as after my trip to be sure everything went well. While I did not need to use my insurance, I appreciated knowing they were there.

When a medical condition forced me to cancel my trip, I tried to reach IMG by telephone. After repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact IMG by telephone, I called Insuremytrip, and was told that IMG's online system had crashed several weeks ago, and they could not predict when it would be back online. I was also told that once IMG's system was restored, there would be a long delay before my claim was processed since was growing backlog of claims.
Fortunately, I was able to obtain full refunds from American Airlines and the hotel, making an insurance claim unnecessary.
It is unacceptable for an American insurance company not to have a backup system in place in the event its system crashes or there is a hacking incident. IMG also was not willing to manually process claims while the their system was down. Insuremytrip, which apparently acts as a broker or agent, was not helpful in resolving the problem other than offering its sympathy.
