I bought the insurance when I made my first down-payment toward a 3-week trip to Ireland and Scotland, so it was expensive. Well in advance of the trip, the Ireland half was cancelled. I notified them immediately, expecting the premium to be reduced accordingly. Nope. Not a bit. I had no idea that was their policy. No doubt if I had increased the trip costs later they'd have charged me more! I followed their rules and got shafted. Not happy, would not recommend them again.

Going on cruise w family but one person died before going. Have submitted claim over two months ago but they are difficult to communicate with and keep requesting more documentation with limited ways to submit and no person an available by phone or email.

Generali "lost" my claim, even though I can log in to their website and clearly see it in their system, and I have an email confirmation from early April showing the claim being submitted and the policy number. But their representatives say they cannot see the claim. I'll never use Generali or Insure My Trip again.
