The Preferred plan is a comprehensive travel insurance plan offered by Arch RoamRight and has several options not offered on the Arch RoamRight Essential plan, allowing for a more customizable product. In addition to trip cancellation and delay, the Preferred plan offers coverage for one child per paid adult, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, trip interruption, medical and evacuation coverage, and 24/7 assistance.

I have very mixed feeling about travel insurance but alter losing luggage on a previous trip several years ago, I decided I would take my tour arranger's advice and get it. I did not insure with the company she recommended but instead checked out other companies, some in person (AAA) and on line. I found InsureMyTrip online and noted that the coverage was very good , being able to compare 8 different plans over several companies. This one was about $100 cheaper for my wife and I and we feel the coverage was equal or better than most, and covered all our concerns and provided peace of mind in the area we were travelling. But of course we did not need it because everything was fine so my fiscally conservative mind says we wasted our dollars. I think it would be a good marketing tool if the companies would give us a 25% rebate if we did not file any claims. That would make me feel better, although having it gave us great peace of mind. I just hate to pay good money for products I do not use. I am cheap and hate add costs to our trips but found InsureMyTrip easier to swallow than if I had paid another $100 for a different plan and didn't use it. The comparison site was very valuable to use for comparison of different plans.

Best of all, we didn't have to use the plan while in Paris: no sprained ankles, broken bones, bumped heads, cut fingers, or heart attacks!

The plan looked good and the price was right, but of course you never really know until you file a claim. Fortunately, I will never know because I came back with nothing more severe than broken fingernails.

I always make sure to contact InsureMyTrip and get the RoamRight plan before I travel anywhere. On a previous trip, our baggage was delayed in Italy for three days, and the claim process when we got home was easy. I travel happier, knowing that I'm covered.

Did not need to file a claim. Wish I could elect coverage for multiple trips in a time frame-eg, 6 months coverage.

Here at RoamRight we do offer a multi-trip plan that covers all trips taken within a one-year timeframe (up to a certain trip cost limit), but only trips 30 days in length or shorter are eligible for this coverage.
