The service was somewhat slow because of my confusion as to where to send the claim. But I am satisfied with the outcome. I think the company was fair and I will recommend this service to anyone in the future.

My suitcase was 24 hours late when I returned from my holiday. I called for a claim form and explained my 24 hour baggage delay, the operator on the phone stated that the coverage for baggage delay was for purchases made, I told the operator that I didn't need to make purchases as I was already at home but I wanted to claim the $100 for 24 hours delay. I wasn't able to claim as I made no purchases, I was disappointed on the wording of the insurance coverage.

    As you indicated in your review, Baggage Delay coverage in Comprehensive Travel Insurance plans reimburse you for the additional expenses that you incur during the trip due to a covered Baggage Delay. Since you did not make any purchases, there were no additional expenses so there would be no reimbursement under Baggage Delay.

We had to change some parts of our reservation and there was no way to contact the AXA customer service to alert them. If we had had a problem while on the trip perhaps you wouldn't have covered us since there was a change. You should make it easier to contact someone in the event of changes or questions.

In most cases, a policy can be amended if InsureMyTrip or the insurance provider is notified before the scheduled departure date. InsureMyTrip is open and available by telephone and email Monday- Friday 7am - Midnight EST and Weekends from 9am - 9pm EST. I purchased identical plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas vacations out of the country. Due to an airline mechanical failure I missed one night of my Thanksgiving pre-paid resort stay. The claims adjusters were very prompt in reviewing and approving my claim (less than $200) and I have already received the check. The airline covered hotel and meals because it was mechanical failure but if the delay had been due to weather, those items would not have been covered and the $500 delay coverage would not have been enough to pay for those items as well. It is just insurance and I was willing to self-insure for those incidentals. Before you leave the airport make sure to get the form from the airline certifying the reason for the missed or delayed flight. You will need it for your claim.

Price seemed fair, coverage was good. Typically the proof is in the pudding, if you don't use the coverage then you don't really know how good it is. But I did not have to use it, so I am satisfied with my interaction!
