We were happy that we didn't have cause to file a claim, but the info sent by April would have made that process as painless as possible had we needed to file. It was clear and concise.

Thank goodness I had no reason to file a claim, but it gave me great peace of mind to know that I had good coverage. I REALLY liked the cards that had all the info needed which I made into luggage tags.

Did not have to use the insurance, so I don't have any comment on filing a claim.

It was comforting to know that I would be covered in the event something did happen to me or my belongings. Will use again.

Had my phone stolen in Ecuador. Spent a lot of time filing a claim and submitting police report and necessary paperwork only to be told that phones are not covered in the fine print. Spoke to more than one customer service rep and none of them mentioned it and let me proceed with wasting my time. In the end I was upset because the phone was not covered but also because I felt I had been misled into wasting time and effort. Turns out there is a lot of stuff that isn't covered so BEWARE:

We certainly can understand your frustration. As you indicated, it does take time to file so it can be extremely frustrating when that claim is ultimately denied.

I didn't have the need to file a claim...that's the only time you can truly say if buying insurance was worth the money. I wish these survey's would only be sent to those filing claims, then we can really get an idea of the product we are purchasing is worth the money.

Although it took some time to process my claim, I was notified every step of the way -- that my claim was received, that it was being processed, how much i would be reiumbursed (exactly what I claimed), and when the check would be sent to me. I would most certainly recommend April Travel Protection to any and all travelers.

I think there were cheaper alternatives with same coverage. I didn't have to make a claim so of course I can't say anything about the plan benefits!

Great service.
Perhaps a call from you at some point would instill more confidence since all of this was done on line.
Otherwise, all is good.

I was affected by the recent ground crew strike at the two airports in Berlin, Germany. I was schedule to fly into the Berlin airport on Monday, but due to the extension of the strike from 24 hours to 48, I wasn't going to be able to reach Berlin until Wednesday that week. This meant that I would miss my connection (a train to elsewhere in Germany) by 1.5 hours. As I knew this would be the case, I called April Travel Protection and told them my predicament. Based on the rules associated with this plan, I would have had to travel to Berlin and miss my connection before they would actually help me figure out how to continue my trip. Meaning I had to land in Berlin and then call them to get help to get me back on schedule. How long would that have taken? I understand the limits of my coverage, but I also would like to be able to take preemptive steps to avert wasted time on my vacation.

Thank you very much for this review.
As you found out when contacting April Travel Protection, there is no reimbursement for the preemptive measures that you might decide to take in order to avoid wasting your vacation time. As in all Comprehensive plans, you would first have to be delayed en route to or from the Covered Trip for 6 or more hours due a defined Hazard, such as a strike, before you can file a claim for the additional travel expense.

This is not the first time that we have heard your complaint. Although your comments are logical, many of the state insurance departments would first have to approve such coverage. However, as of today, we do not know of any travel insurance plans that are offering that higher level of coverage.
