A trip begins when you leave your home. I was very disappointed to learn I was not covered during all phases of the trip, including all air travel whether in my home country or not. I would not purchase again unless commercial transportation inside my home country, USA, was included.

Thank you for your comments pointing out that the IMT Travel Accident Plan was not written to provide flight accidental death coverage while the traveler is within United States airspace. The plan states that "Coverage will begin at 12:00 A.M. Eastern Standard Time on the latest of the following: 1) The date the Company receives a completed application or enrollment form; or 2) The moment Plan Participant exits their Home Country airspace; or 3) The Date the Company approves the Application; or 4) The Date requested by the Plan Participant.
Coverage will end at 11:59 P.M. Eastern Standard Time on the earliest of the following: 1) The date Plan Participant is no longer in an Eligible Class; or 2) The date the Plan Participant returns to his or her Home Country unless otherwise covered under the Plan Document; or; 3) The expiration of 365 days from the Effective Date of Coverage; or 4) The date shown on the Schedule of Insurance issued by the Company."
We do offer plans covering Flight Accidental Death and Dismember (AD&D) within and outside United States airspace on our website. This coverage may also be available for an additional premium under some of our Comprehensive Coverage Plans.

This policy was designed to cover Accidental Death and Dismemberment in the event of an accident during your trip. The policy does not cover the actual expenses incurred while you are being treated at a hospital or licensed medical facility, but the policy does offer additional add-ons for Medical Evacuation coverage. The policy would also cover many activities, such as hiking or some water sports, but would also exclude the following:
"Travel in or upon: A snowmobile; A water jet ski; Any two or three-wheeled motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle registered for on-road travel; Any off-road motorized vehicle not requiring licensing as a motor vehicle; when used for recreation or competition. Unless Hazardous Activity Rider is purchased."
"Injury sustained while taking part in: mountaineering; hang gliding; parachuting; bungee jumping; racing by horse, motor vehicle or motorcycle; snowmobiling; motorcycle/motor scooter riding; scuba diving, involving underwater breathing apparatus; water skiing; snow skiing; spelunking; parasailing; white water rafting; surfing, unless part of a school credit course; and snowboarding. Unless Hazardous Activity Rider is purchased."
