Choosing which particular travel insurance policy is right for one's situation involves many variables. Thus, recommending any single policy to others makes no sense. However, the InsureMyTrip website makes finding the right policy for you and your trip relatively easy.

I cannot comment on Nationwide's claim service, as we have not used it. However, we did have the peace of mind in knowing that we were covered appropriately for whatever might have gone wrong, especially during an active hurricane season. THAT is the primary benefit of purchasing an appropriate travel insurance policy.

Great company to buy insurance from. Unfortunately, we had to file a claim, but everyone we spoke to was helpful and professional... and our claim was processed promptly. We will definitely continue buying our cruise insurance thru Nationwide!!!

While we didn't need to file a claim this trip, we did on a past cruise when a port was cancelled just prior to leaving. Filing a claim was simple, and we were reimbursed by the time the trip concluded. Thus I specifically looked for this luxury cruise insurance again on this trip.

When there was so much on the news about hurricanes at the time we would be flying, we were a little concerned about whether we would be able to go but were not concerned we would take a financial hit. The weather cooperated, our first European trip was wonderful, and we were glad nothing happened to make us file a claim.

The plan itself looked good howerver, We did get into a pickle with a flight delay and almost didn't make our cruise. We were not sure if the insurance would cover the missed cruise/air fair do to airline delays of a runway being shut down in San Francisco. Tried to call customer service which didn't know anything. Said we had to call claims which is only open business hours monday-friday. WAS NOT HELPFUL. Need a 24 hour 7 days help/ claims line since customer no service knows nothing. We had to buy another ticket on a different airline, extra expense we didn't need, but we made it.

    All travel insurance plans do offer 24 Hour Emergency Assistance while you are on your trip. This information could have been found on page 22 of your certificate.

    Your Nationwide cruise plan offered services through On Call International Travel Assistance Services for 24/7 travel assistance services. On Call has a toll free number: 855-258-0333 (within the United States and Canada), or you could have called 603-952-2037 collect. (From all other locations).

Peace of mind. The Nationwide promise in a nutshell. You plan a wonderful trip,all kinds of money upfront and in the back of your mind the question keeps popping up. What if? It is nice to know that if any of the many things delay or alter your trip or you are unable to go, you're covered.

Will definitely use this plan again when cruising! About a week or two before we were to leave for our cruise to New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, and Malaysia, our original itinerary changed twice due to ship mechanical problems. Contacted Nationwide after returning home and filed a claim for the Change of Itinerary that was covered under our policy. Completed the information the same day, and sent the information in. Did not receive any questions from them with the information that was provided, and within about two weeks, received a check for exactly the amount the policy stated under the Terms and Conditions. Very good service!
