I didn't use the plan for claims but it was nice to have it as I have a travel plan through my work but doesn't cover the baggage loss ..so it was good to have this semi inclusive plan..

We want to alert travelers flying out of Liberia airport in Costa Rica that the price of food and even water is outrageous! We ordered 2 chicken wraps, 2 soft drinks, and a small fry. Cost: $56.80 US.
At Houston airport, 2 chicken wraps and 2 drinks was ONLY $21.00 US.
I felt sorry for young families who had to order a pizza slice for 2 kids since it was only $10.
Should this be the last memory of beautiful and interesting Costa Rica, being ripped off at the departure airport? Don't forget the departure tax of $28 US each. It can now be paid in advance at the bank or at Villa del Sueno Hotel in Playa Hermosa to avoid lineups at the airport.

Been using (and referring others to) this travel insurance for the past few years now and am very satisfied with the prices and the small claim I once had to file.
I found it when it was recommended by Consumer Reports and have not used another since then. It is consistently less costly and - I believe - more forgiving for previous conditions than other plans.

The first time I called the person I spoke to was named David. He was very helpful and said I could ensure my flight and theatre tickets. The second time I called back to actually purchase coverage, the person I spoke too said they never cover theatre tickets had never heard of such a thing and everything I questioned him about from my prior conversation seemed to be the wrong information. I thought they would all give me the same info and was not going to insure with your company. I then decided to call back and ask for David specifically and was lucky enough to get to talk to him. He said I could insure my flight and theatre tickets and then quoted me the price that was originally quoted, and I was very happy with his customer service. If I had of spoke to the second gentleman the first time, I would have never insured with your company thinking what I needed, your company could not provide. He made it sound like he had worked with your company a long time but obviously did not know some very important aspects of your insurance policies. I do thank David for his assistance. We had a fabulous trip without incident and did not have to file a claim so cannot comment on that only getting the insurance.

I purchased a travel and medical insurance for my trip to South Africa from Sept 6- Sept 30 2012. I had to extend my trip to South Africa for another 2 weeks, so I called up insuremytrip.ca to have my insurance extended but to my dismay insuremytrip.ca was not willing to extend my insurance.
I am travelling on business that is why it is common for me to extend my date of coverage. I hope that insuremytrip is also flexible enough.
Since I have multiple trips in a year, it would be nice to have a username (and password) for the insuremytrip.ca website so I can just log in and my details will already be there. All I have to specify is my travel dates and the country I am going to. This way, I can also track the insurance that I have purchased for the year.

Some of the providers don't allow for extension of a policy once you are on your trip. We are looking into adding user name and password to our website in the future. Thank you.Oct 03,2012

It is difficult to say or give a comment until a claim is made. My concern is what I am really covered for especially in the US. The Dr. here says your fit to travel but what do they say when contacted about a claim.

As I am a Canadian, when calling for information at ETFS, there was only 1 person that could answer my questions, as most of the people at ETFS could only give advice to Americans, not Canadians, and at one point she would have to phone me back which she did, promptly. She was not that friendly, but seemed very busy. The rates were very good, though, and I would recommend.
