Seven Corners Roundtrip Choice
We purchased a plan that suited us, high medical, evacuation and cancellation coverage. The price was reasonable for our age category. Unfortunately, for medical reasons we had to cancel the trip. After notifying Seven Corners they immediately acknowledged our claim. In addition they processed the claim in a timely manner. We are completely satisfied with the plan

We are sorry that you were unable to communicate with us while on your trip to Vietnam. We do have a 24 hr. collect number that you can call in the event of an emergency, which is supplied on your ID card. We hope we can better assist you in the future, should you choose to purchase a policy from Seven Corners again.

    Best Regards,

I decided to get travel insurance with Seven Corners because the insurance offered by SmarTours travel company didn't quite meet my needs. Then my trip to Japan, April 2011,--which was insured by Seven Corners--was canceled by SmarTours. The SmarTours company offered full refund--including the cost of their travel insurance--to all participants. However, Seven Corners basically said--sorry no refund (!)--but you can transfer insurance fee to another trip--IF you come up with the new travel dates before the date the Japan trip would have taken place--which was only a couple weeks away! Fortunately I had a cruise coming up in Sept 2011 and hadn't decided on insurance yet--so was able to transfer the payment to that trip. If I didn't have that trip already planned I would have lost the entire cost of the insurance on a trip that had been canceled (by the travel company--not me!) and no insurance claim filed. Perhaps this is standard procedures with most travel insurance companies--I don't know. Just something to think about when deciding to get a different insurance than the one offered by a tour company...

Each policy does have a specified amount of time called 'free look period' in which you can return your policy for a refund of premium. In this case it was a 10 day free look period. Once you are outside of that time frame the policy premium is considered earned by the insurance companies. There are situations like these where they will allow the insured to move the policy to another trip.

I have never , fortunately had to file a claim but have used the plan several times and am satisfied with it, especially the premium cost.
