We have always bought Travelex insurance. They offer a competitive premium and primary not secondary coverage.
We had our first travel claim on our last trip, a Trans Atlantic cruise. They covered the incident and we received claims payment within three weeks. Very satisfied.

Luckily did not have to use the insurance, but was happy that I had it available as I had a major accident before my trip and the possibility of cancellation was almost certain. However, I had miraculous recovery and was able to take my trip as planned.

We didn't have to file a claim so we don't know how that process would have worked out. After reviewing the policy it looked like all area which I was concerned about were covered. I had looked at several plans and reviews from previous customers before I chose this plan. I was satisfied with the coverage and would use it again.

As a single parent, I needed a policy to protect my son and I while we traveled to a country that had a State Dept Advisory and would also cover our Scuba diving. I knew that if anything happened, my Ex might create a major stink custody wise. Was advised to get a $500,000 for realistic coverage. So glad this policy put me at ease.

Thankfully I did not have to file a claim with Travelex, but did enjoy the peace of mind that it brought. One thing that I appreciated is the coverage for repatriation, as this can be quite an unexpected expense if it is needed. Most do not like to think of such things, but, unfortunately, things do happen, even on a vacation.
