I did not have to use the insurance thank goodness, but glad we had it. Paid approximately 5% of the total trip cost which was half of the price from the cruise line itself. Not to mention I was able to purchase insurance only 5 to 7 days prior to my trip departing which was something the cruise line did not offer at all.

I would prefer product covering gaps in the coverage I get with my credit card already. This would mostly be trip cancellation for medical reasons for me or family member, including pre-exsting conditions.

I chose Travelex because it had rapidly and affirmatively processed an earlier claim for the costs of a delayed trip on a different trip. On this trip I was primarily concerned about being unable to travel because of a pre-existing medical condition. Fortunately that did not occur and i was able to go. However, I misunderstood how much of my airline ticket costs would be refunded in the event of a cancelation. This was my own fault, not Travelex's or InsureMyTrip (IMT). I did not inquire before purchasing. Nevertheless, my suggestion for IMT is that it provide a very brief written primer on what costs might be refunded, or what to look for. In my case I did not correctly understand that taxes paid would have been refunded had I not gone. This meant that I incorrectly underestimated the amount of coverage I needed. Had I made a claim, I was told later by both Travelex and Insure My Trip, it would have been rejected for this reason, not just paid out on the basis of actual loss, but rejection because of this mistake. IMT could assist potential clients by explaining, in a written manner, how this figure should be calculated.

We did not have to file a claim, so I cannot comment on ho a claim might have been handled. We purchased this plan because it seemed to have appropriate coverage for us at a reasonable price, and, most importantly for us, it provided PRIMARY coverage for medical and other expenses. This would have enabled us to avoid lots of unnecessary work filing claims with Medicare, which offers no coverage in Europe. For us, this was worth the few extra dollars this policy cost over others where medical coverage was secondary.
