My son got sick on trip and was treated by medical staff aboard the ship. When we returned I contacted travelex and submitted my receipts from medical and the claim was handled expeditiously. I am very pleased with the insurance and have since taken out another policy for my next trip.

While on my trip I called to inquire about medical coverage, reimbursement and the possibility of needing to extend my trip due to my child’s illness (and the type of documentation I’d need in order to file later). My calls kept getting dropped and I couldn’t get in touch with a single person. Absolutely useless.

Thank you for providing your feedback. There are 2 main factors that determine premium costs for this plan: the cost of the trip and the travelers ages.
The Travelex Travel Select plan is a benefit rich policy. In addition to the standard comprehensive policy benefits, this policy also includes Cancel For Work Reasons, Missed Connection, Sporting and Golf Equipment Delay, License Fee Refund, and 24-hour Full Coverage Accidental Death and Dismemberment.

A total disaster and misrepresentation of the services to be provided. My wife (72 yers old) broke her arm in Croatia. Before going to the hospital I called emergency number provided to find out what I needed to get from the hospital. Got the itemized bill requested. After I'm back at my hotel call emergency number again to give an update of her condition and get assistance in alternative travel back home. Was told I needed additional paperwork from hospital which is an hour away. No assistance was to be given until I had the proper forms they would email to me filled out by the hospital and attending MD. This was ridiculous. We were left to make our own way home without your help. Not once did any representative even ask how my wife was doing. At a time of crisis you were no where to be found.

Travelex Insurance Services empathizes with your wife’s unfortunate accident while on your trip. We hope your wife is healing and doing well.
We did contact On Call International (On Call), our travel assistance provider, on your behalf for a review of your wife’s case. On Call confirmed that within the first phone call there was reference to needing a medical report, a fit to fly form, and itemized receipt, along with information about assisting with medical expenses, should the need arise while you were on your trip. On Call also advised us that they will use your feedback to help make this process smoother and clearer in the future.
It is important to remember that certain paperwork is required for On Call to assist in getting travelers home as they need to ensure that the doctor has confirmed that travelers are fit to fly for safety reasons.
