Usually I just do it myself online, but this time I had some questions and called. The CSR was terrific and well informed. She was able to answer my questions and as a result I was able to buyer a slightly less expensive policy between the two I was considering.

M.H. Ross is a wonderful company. While I did not file a claim for this trip, I did file a claim for my previous trip. I had to cancel my trip due to the death of my grandmother. Within three weeks of sending them my grandmother's death certification, M.H. Ross refunded the remaining amount of my airfare. I highly recommend M.H. Ross for all your travel needs. Excellent company!

I have never filed a claim or dealt with MH Ross or customer service representatives so I have no means of actually rating the performance of MH Ross and the services they provide. On paper they looked great and seemed to cover everything I wanted/needed in a carrier for my trip to Mexico in 2015. Especially important to me was the medical airlift evacuation to the hospital of my choice back in the USA.

I had a bad head cold and was unable to participate in a prepaid unrefundable scuba diving day. The dive operater wrote a receipt, signed with her contact email address to verify the legitimacy of the incident. But because I was not "evaluated by a physician" it would not be worth filing.

    Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were ill during your trip. You bring up an excelent point about travel insurance. When becoming ill or injured, while on a trip, it is necessary to seek medical attention while on your trip in order to have coverages such as interruption and medical expenses reimbursed through your insurance coverage. Also, be sure to get copies of medical records and an itemized receipt. Don't forget that you can always call the 24-hour emergency assistance number for guidance. They are there for more than just emergencies and can provide other services as well.

After filing a claim for a cancelled trip, our experience with this company was terrible. We continually had to call them to track the claim and every time they would say we needed to send more paperwork. Some receipts we sent them 4 times. We even had one of the tour operators email us to ask why they kept asking him for the same information. It took about 6 months for us to get about half of our money back. The one good thing I will say is about InsureMyTrip, who stepped in to help us at one point and were great to deal with.

    We are sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with the claims service. We apologize on behalf of the claims administrator that your claim took an unusually long time to process, and that you were repeatedly asked to provide documentation that had already been submitted. Depending upon the complexity of the claim, and how readily available the claims documentation is, claims processing should take anywhere between 3-8 weeks.

The only downside to a plan like this is the fairly restrictive refund policy if you decide not to keep the coverage.
