Fortunately I didn't have to make a claim. So I really can't judge how good a company you are without experiencing how well you would handle my claim. I chose your company based on your rating and reviews of other customers. The cost of my policy was very fair for the coverage l chose.

It's hard to know if a plan is as good as it looks until a claim needs to be filed, which hasn't happened to us yet. But I have compared prices for the plans with what is essential to me, and the AXA Gold plan is the one we get each time, partly because of the way it defines family members to include in-laws. We have saved money over the plans that are offered through the tour companies, usually.

We didn't need to use it, so I cannot say if the coverage was adequate. BUT, it did allow us to feel more comfortable in that we would be protected if we did need to cancel. It was very expensive, though.

Luckily I didn't have to use it, so I can't say how efficient/effective it is. It makes it impossible to give accurate answers to your questions. The last question which YOU answered for me is uncalled for - I don't know if I would recommend it based on the fact that I didn't have to use it so I don't know what a hassle or not it may have been had I made a claim. I changed your "yes" to a "no" on that one because it is irrelevant based on my knowledge of how it would have been to deal with you had I made a claim.

Didn't use the plan but gave us peace of mind about having coverage. When you book things about 8-9 months out or more many things can happen so we wanted coverage in case we had to cancel our trip. Also you can add things as you book them which I didn't understand to begin with. So as you add/book hotels or something you call up AXA and let them know and they add it to your coverage and you are charged a little more. Liked this aspect. Will use them again.

We have traveled extensively (cycling and hiking) since retirement 18 years ago and never purchased travel insurance in the past. However for this 7 week trip to Spain and the Netherlands which included 2 weeks (200+ miles) of cycling plus our ages (72 and 79) plus concerns about family health plus increased terrorist potential we decided it would be a good idea for this trip to get both trip protection and medical coverage. Though we did not need to use the coverage, happily, it provided peace of mind. Particularly when the Barcelona incident occurred a week before leaving and one of the cycling trips was more difficult than anticipated causing others to fall and injure themselves.
