There were some health issues looming over this trip, and we are very grateful that nothing happened and we did not have an occasion to need/use this travel insurance. It was an expensive purchase, but the peace of mind was well worth the cost, Thanks!

I felt that they excluded items from my claim that should have been paid. Their policy covers "any reasonable additional expenses incurred (meals, accommodations, local Transportation, and telephone calls);" but they refused to reimburse for tips for the local transportation and hotel. Tips are an expected part of local transportation and hotel check-ins, and I think that that AXA is misinterpreting the terms of their own policy in disallowing them.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We appreciate you allowing InsureMyTrip to advocate on your behalf. We are glad we were able to assist you in getting the majority of your trip delay claim paid. We apologize that AXA Assistance USA is unable to reimburse the tips you paid during your trip delay. However, as with all travel insurance claims, receipts and documentation are required for an expense to be covered. Covering undocumented expenses would open the door to many fraudulent claims. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your business.
Had to cancel due to an illness. Help from AXA was good but we needed to keep sending more and more medical documentation and proof of travel purchases. It took about 2 months by the time I had to try on my own and get refusals before I could really make a request to AXA. I suppose this is par for the course for any insurance though.
