On Call was just terrible. Multiple agents on every call. Repeated story to new representative every call. No one took notes and failed to follow Dr.'s orders.

I had a baggage delay on my overseas trip where I needed to purchase items because of it. I tried going through the claim process and found it so convoluted and complicated that I gave up doing it. It was asking for trip/flight information that wasn't easily available. I would of had to do some digging back in the states to find it. It was just a simple reimbursement of expenses I had to pay because of delayed baggage so it seems it shouldn't of been so frustrating to fill out the claim.

Your policy does include Baggage Delay benefits. Receipts and documentation are required to support a claim. We encourage you to call the claims department to explain the events that occurred and they can advise you on if the events seem to fall within the scope of the policy. Without filing a claim, no determination can be made in terms of offering you compensation.

Like most purchasers of travel insurance, we ran into no problems on our trip and so can't really say how well the policy protected us. In selecting this plan, I relied heavily on the reviews of people who did file a claim and had a satisfactory experience.

I had to bother a claim worker several times to get any info on the plan I purchased as I received nothing showing plan number, or anything showing I purchased a plan. Fortunately she was able to search out and send me some info showing I had bought a plan even though it was not her area. Someone should have sent me info on the plan I bought and a receipt at least.

After purchase, InsureMyTrip and Berkshire Hathaway emails a purchase confirmation which can be printed and carried with you on the trip. The purchase confirmation includes the purchase details, contact information, and schedule of benefits. The reps at Insuremytrip were extremely helpful and patient in answering and explaining coverage. Didnt need to file a claim,but we took a 7 day cruise from Miami, flying from NY for a group of 4ppl. Carnival's insurance was $290 for the cruise portion only($2500 value) .Insuremytrip was only$109 which included flights and cruise. Will definitely use again!!

Might be worth it for catastrophic coverage but not much else.
On extended travel, I called for help refilling my prescription medications while in the UK. Had to give a LOT of info over the phone to someone seemed very ill-informed about the policy -- I had to explain to her. Said she'd get back to me. Several days later (!), someone emailed and just offered a list of medical practices I could visit in area, ALL of which were inappropriate/useless (e.g., cardiology only practice when I needed a general practice referral to get a UK prescription). I found better information just Googling on my own. I had to solve the problem myself rather than getting any help. And why did it take several days for someone to reply with useless information?
Even worse: My spouse had an injury during our trip for which he sought treatment in the UK. We started a claim for it but then saw that the documentation required to fill out was so extensive, that it would take several hours of work for us to complete all the required forms, so we gave up as not being worth our time. His medical costs were less than $500. There should be different documentation requirements for small claims like ours vs. more expensive ones!
In short, we tried to use this policy but it turned out to be worthless to us.

However, we did forward your request to Berkshire Hathaway who did contact their 3rd party provider and agree that their provider failed to provide you with the level of service that you had a right to expect.
