Although I didn't need to file a claim, my experience with purchasing the policy was very positive. I had questions and they were answered as I was trying to purchase the policy so that I got and understood my coverage. The Berkshire Hathaway ExactCare plan was one of the most competitively priced policies for your trip while still offering the Pre-Existing Condition Waiver, a Primary Medical Limit of 50,000 USD and an Emergency Medical Evacuation Limit of 1,000,000 USD.
Premiums for comprehensive policies are based largely on the length of the trip, the ages of the travelers, and the cost of the trip. Although a travel insurance policy is considered to be of good value when the policy premium is within 10% of the insured trip cost, that ratio is usually based on a trip that is no more than 30 days. Since your trip was approximately 93 days long, this increased your pricing.
