The cancel for any reason rider is NOT for any reason. It does not include any emergencies that may happen in the 48 hours before you leave on your trip. This is ridiculous and idiotic.
I do not recommend this company, nor do I think that travel insurance is a very good investment for many of us who do not book all-inclusive trips.

Thank you for your feedback on your policy. According to the terms and conditions of your plan, in order to use Cancel for Any Reason, you must cancel Your Trip 48 hours or more before Your Scheduled Departure Date. Unfortunately, we do not have any plans that will allow you to cancel your trip for any reason on the day of departure. First of all, no one should review an insurance company unless they've actually filed a claim. What are you reviewing without that, their ability to collect your money? I did file a claim.
I wouldn't buy this insurance again. They had SUCH a hard time with the fact that I used a travel agent on this claim. Add that on to the fact that my husband an I used the same agent on the same purchase, but HAD to purchase 2 different plans from the insurer and this was a total disaster (I am a US citizen, but hubby isn't so we had to have 2 separate plans). They just could not figure out how to untangle the travel agent's stuff since everything said twice the price we were claiming (again, because the travel agent did it on one invoice, but we had 2 travel insurance plans). Also, they won't reimburse us the travel agent's fees at all, which was pretty annoying since had we not used them we would have gotten much more back, but the insurance would have also had to pay more. Totally rigged system. Finally, we were supposed to get 75% of $375 back on each ticket, but only received checks for $280 something. 75% of $375 is definitely $281.25. Not worth calling to get my dolla back, but I will DEFINTELY mention it here. Do your math right! Oh, and I started this claim in February, it's June. We just got the check. Not easy, not user friendly at all. But, we did eventually get (most) of what we were owed.

Hard to write a review for a plan (thank goodness) that we did not need to file a claim. But, in our research, we found that this plan provided the benefits we wanted at a great price. Having coverage made our 2 week trip more enjoyable, knowing that we had coverage for medical, delays, lost baggage, car, etc. Would purchase again. FYI, the day after we flew out of Heathrow, the BA meltdown occurred. Many people were thankful they had travel insurance to get them back home, cover various costs. I guess that is why they call it - insurance.

This is tricky to review since I never actually used the plan. Everything looked good and the customer service line was helpful when I called to ask some questions prior to purchased, but never having made a claim I can't say for certain if this was a good plan or not. I had to rate with stars, thus the high ratings, though they could possibly change if I had to make a claim.

The best part about this plan is that we did not have to use it, but knew we had it as a backup in an uncertain world. As well, the auto rental insurance coverage part saved us a lot of money vs. having to purchase coverage through the rental company. In the US our auto policy covers rentals, but not overseas.
