I was surprised that the rental car coverage only covered the damage portion of the insurance, and not the liability part. I had to add that section using the rental car policy at a high daily rate.

2 Years ago I was hospitalized in Mexico. Believe me, being transported to a private facility and receiving the absolute best in medical care and attention was so important. The peace of mind travel insurance provides is incredibly important to me. Our second successful and thankfully uneventful trip with InsureMyTrip this year. YES, it's worth it, buy the health insurance, don't be caught out!

Hard to say anything really about this or any travel policy until a claim is filed and the insured experiences how the insurance carrier responds. Since I didn't file a claim, it would not be fair for me to assign a five star rating to any of the survey questions. On the surface, the policy did seem to be priced reasonably given it provided "primary" coverage. Most travel policies, like the ones offered as an inexpensive "add-on" offered for optional purchase with the purchase of airline tickets, typically only offer "secondary" coverage meaning that the policy only pays a claim after any other existing "primary" insurance policies applicable to the claim (if any) pays out first. I liked that this policy provided "primary" coverage for a reasonable price.

This was the first time I purchased travel insurance and the customer service representative I spoke with prior to purchase was very helpful. I failed to ask whether I could be reimbursed for airline miles rather than take the airline's credit , which I wish the agent had clarified. When I filed a claim, the doctor filled in everything except dates of service so received 75% of my costs back. I realize this is standard but think there was enough info completed on the form to justify full reimbursement. Had the amount been significant, I might have asked the doctor to add this information.

If You have Trip Cancellation Benefits under this Policy and cancel Your Trip for a Covered reason, benefits will be paid up to the Maximum Benefit Amount of $250 as shown in the Confirmation of Benefit for any penalty cost of putting the miles or reward points back in the account they were removed from.Nov 06,2014
