When you pay a lot of money for a trip of a life time, you need to feel safe. I was a little late in starting to look for a plan but insuremytrip was extremely easy to use. I just filled out the online form and received quotes. Simple as that. Quotes AND reviews of the different companies made it easy to pick, pay and receive my policy. I highly recommend and happy that I didn't need it. I've already recommended it to my sister and husband who are planning on taking the same trip we did next year!

    Thank you for your 5 star review of the Generali Standard plan. Although you can purchase the Generali policies up until the day before departure, Generali does offer its Premium plan which includes time sensitive benefits that includes but is not limited to the preexisting condition waiver available to you if you purchase the Premium plan prior to or within 24 hours of your final payment for the full cost of your trip.

Generali Global Assistance Preferred
One of the participants in our group fell face forward while walking to one of our destinations. She was seen at a walk-in clinic and fortunately no major injuries were found. Although her facial injuries were evident and she was "shaken up" for a couple of days, she decided to continue with the trip. However, that experience brought home the need to have insurance.

    Thank you for your 5 star review for the Generali Preferred plan. Many of our customers tell us that witnessing a sickness or injury during a trip reminds them that there is a real need for travel insurance.

    Please keep in mind that if you did have an emergency, you would have called Generali as soon as reasonably possible! Your policy includes claims and 24-hour assistance phone numbers for both inside and outside of the United States, ensuring that you can get in touch with Generali at any time. Of course, if you're in a dire medical emergency you would want to seek care immediately and worry about contacting Generali once you're stable.

    However, you will need to know what documentation will be most important for you to secure before returning home. We cannot stress enough that you should save your receipts and proof of expenses so that you can be accurately reimbursed, whether it be costs due to a delay of travel for hotel or meal, or medical records for emergency treatment received. This is especially important for medical care received overseas, since it can be incredibly difficult to get this paperwork once you have returned home.

I twisted my knee badly on the fourth day of a back to back cruise and visited Carnival Sunshine medical. The on-call physician listened to my complaint, did a few checks, and gave me a compression brace for my knee. I was impressed with the onboard physician but also very impressed with the speed that Generali processed my claim. While the claim was small (only $175), it was processed quickly and a check put in the mail. I have two more cruises already planned for this year and will definitely give Generali my business.

It's called peace of mind, when we are overseas we do not have medical coverage there is always the unexpected, the price was right we will purchase it again in the future.

Generali Global Assistance Premium
In my years of travels I have always selected Generali Global Assistance and even though my credit card provides travel insurance I chose the Premium plan to supplement it, fortunately I did not have to submit a claim, but it is always good to have the peace of mind in case something happens. Flight delays, lost of baggage are not fun! having travel insurance will determine if you will sleep on a dirty airport floor or on a comfortable bed at a hotel. Always get travel insurance!
