Although my trip was uneventful as to the insurance coverage, I did have a level of comfort knowing I wouldn't have any large outlays for unexpected experiences.

I've used the service several times...
In the plan I had delay on flight to help cover unforeseen cost...
The flight was delayed in Hong Kong for roughly 26 hours.
Called to verify my coverage.
They told me it was not covered because it's not a labor despite.
The protests in Hong Kong shut down the airport several days.
Do to this situation. I will not be using this company or its services ever again and will do everything in my power to make sure anybody I know and come in contact with doesn't either... Thank you for nothing but taken my money.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to learn that your travel was delayed. Unfortunately, Civil Disorder is a common exclusion on all travel insurance products. In the future, please call us prior to purchase so we can review the plan benefits with you and answer any questions you may have about coverage. In fact, you may call us any time at 800-487-4722 to discuss travel insurance products offered by InsureMyTrip. We are open 7 days a week, and all of our representatives are licensed insurance agents. We have also forwarded your comments to the provider and received the following response:

    "We're sorry to hear about the circumstances surrounding your claim, and for not meeting your expectations. We want our customers to choose the correct policy to fit their needs and stress the importance of reviewing your coverage details via the sample Description of Coverage/Insurance Policy that’s provided at the time of purchase, and contacting (800) 348-9505 or csa@csatravelprotection.com with additional questions. The plan you purchased includes a variety of covered events under which we can provide coverage if a covered event interrupts your trip. Unfortunately the Trip Interruption benefit does not cover interruption due to civil disorder. However if reasonable expenses were incurred as a result of a trip delay there is potential Trip Delay benefits coverage and we recommend you submit a claim for consideration at csaclaims.com. Please contact us at the number or email provided above if you have additional questions."

I had to canc my trip due to my dog needing 24/7 supervision for a injury. Wasn't aware it would have to be a service dog if this happened. Next time I'll specifically ask. All other ins I bought, through my tour company, covers all reasons for cancellation. I just assumed they were all alike. Won't next time I get it.

Unfortunately you are correct, the plan you purchased is unable to provide coverage for the sickness of a pet that is not a service animal. The only hitches with the claim to Generali was a change in claim agent and a misunderstanding about the date a credit for a cancelled flight would expire. Took a bit longer to get this settled than I expected.

My wife became ill while in Croatia. She visited a shipboard medical and received some medications at a modest cost. A later visit would have required a significant cost should she have chosen to pursue further treatment. The cost was not a factor affecting her decision because it would have been fully covered by the insurance coverage we had purchased. My wife declined further treatment as we decided to wait until our voyage terminated. Peace of mind is a great thing to have.

My husband & I started buying insurance about 6 years ago. It seamed expensive each time I purchased it, but as our parents were aging I thought it was something we should do. We recently planned our longest and farthest trip for over a year to go to New Zealand and Australia. We were very excited, both of us healthy, when out of no where the night before, my husband got sick, and we went from 2 emergency room visits that night to being admitted to the hospital for 4 more days and he was not advised to travel for a few months after that due to follow up doc visits. On my initial call I was in quite a panic, but they were calm & understood and helped me deal with it all. All turned out good for my husband, and we rebooked the only other cruise/airfare available for a similar trip this fall. And we are buying the same policy we had last time with Generali. Why? Because due to their excellent response & assistance & clarification of what info they needed, etc. in order for us to get our money returned as soon as possible they deserve our loyalty. They were always available when I needed to ask a quesiton. I advise keeping detailed records, (I am fortunate that my husband did that) Also, know that that it will take time for all the paperwork (about 60 days) but the delays are not because of the insurance company, usually due to waiting on hospital records, etc. (they also warned me in advance about the time frame to collect all the data). My claim handler Chanel was fantastic.
