since we had no reason to file a claim I cannot totally rate the quality and customer service - no interaction needed.

We didn't need to file a claim but were happy for the peace of mind in case things went wrong. The cruise line misplaced one piece of luggage and during my hour wait it was good to know that had they lost my bag we would have been covered.

Hard to rate, Was happy that before we left I received an email with instructions and numbers to call.. But, the true test of an insurance company is how easy are they to deal with and how quickly are they to pay for claims. Thank Goodness that we did not need to do this.

I'm happy I didn't have a claim, and was more reassured about the company when I traveled through Italy to find that Generali is a very big insurance company. I had a drink right across from their offices in Orvieto. I would use them again.

It was a satisfactory coverage, however, it was very costly I feel. It need not be so high. I had no time and therefore I went to purchase your plan. I thank you for that. But in the future, I am unlikely to approach your plan, if it is so high, nor would be happy to recommend for others. Thanks

Thank you for providing your feedback. There are 3 main factors that determine premium costs: the cost of the trip, the length of the trip, and the travelers ages.

One of the best things about a trip is NOT having to use your travel insurance. However, after at least a couple of travel disasters (almost inevitable if you travel enough), I would never think of an international trip without it. Also, US citizens 65 years old and older are not covered by Medicare abroad. So travel policy covering medical needs is inescapable.

This policy, although unused, covered my medical needs well, should there have been any, as well as other important aspects of travel. I felt totally secure while traveling and the policy was moderate in cost. I have worked with INSUREMYTRIP twice and find them courteous, knowledgeable and reasonable in cost. I will most certainly use them again the next time I travel abroad.

This plan was competitive in terms of pricing, but the fact that any losses I would suffer due to illness were not covered made it a very poor value for me. The reason medical problems were not covered was that I had not purchased the insurance within one week of my final trip payment. Even though this major source of potential trip cancellation was not covered, there was no discount applied to the premium. I experienced no problems and filed no claims, but withholding this coverage without offering any discount was a major disappointment and greatly reduced the value of the policy for me.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy.

The Generali Global Assistance Premium plan provides a waiver for pre-existing conditions with the following requirements met:

"a. coverage is purchased prior to or within 24 hours of your final Trip Payment; and
    b. you are medically able to travel at the time the coverage is purchased; and
    c. you insure 100% of your prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions."

If you are not able to purchase prior to or within 24 hours of your final Trip Payment or you do not insure 100% of your prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions, you would have a 180 day look back period should any claims be filed.

"PRE-EXISTING CONDITION means a Sickness or Injury
during the 180-day period immediately prior to your
effective date for which you or your Traveling Companion:
    (1) received, or received a recommendation for, a
diagnostic test, examination, or medical treatment; or
    (2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine.
Item 2 of this definition does not apply to a condition
which is treated or controlled solely through the taking
of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or
controlled without any adjustment or change in the required
prescription throughout the 180-day period before coverage
    is effective under this Policy."

In the future, if you are looking for guidance in selecting a travel insurance plan, please consider contacting our office at 800-487-4722 where a licensed representative would be happy to assist you. Unfortunately, due to business regulations, we are not able to discount travel insurance policies.
