This plan was a perfect fit and REASONABLY priced. It had the options that covered my core concerns for domestic travel. It was easy and also had reasonable terms for claims which fortunately were not needed. It's always better to have something and not need it then the other way around.

I didn't have to file a claim--thank God, so can't comment on coverages and other such issues. Otherwise I have been very pleased. There was a problem with getting the wrong name for the primary insured, but your people fixed that very quickly and easily.

I purchased this insurance as my husband had been suffering with cancer for many months and I knew there was a possibility he would be too ill to fly and the trip would need to be cancelled. When I called to say I was cancelling I was told I could not because it was the result of a preexisting condition. My husband actually passed away on 1/31 so he definitely couldn't have made the trip. Obviously, I am very angry.

    As you had mentioned, the Generali Global Assistance Standard does have a Pre-Existing Condition exclusion. The definition per the certificate is as follows:

    "PRE-EXISTING CONDITION means a Sickness or Injury
    during the 180-day period immediately prior to your
    effective date for which you or your Traveling Companion:
    (1) received, or received a recommendation for, a
    diagnostic test, examination, or medical treatment; or
    (2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine.
    Item 2 of this definition does not apply to a condition
    which is treated or controlled solely through the taking
    of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or
    controlled without any adjustment or change in the required
    prescription throughout the 180-day period before coverage
    is effective under this Policy."

Generali Global Assistance Standard
United Airlines cancelled my flight en route to the airport. As I missed a day of my trip, I filed a claim and left the following day. While the initial search for the right department was a little bit of a run-around, once I was directed to the right page and type of claim, I competed the paperwork, scanning attachments, and by the end of the day, my claim was accepted. A check for $150 was in the mail.
