I filed a claim shortly after returning from the trip because of trip interruption caused by airline/airport issues. I was pleased with the beginning of the claim process, and very satisfied with the payment from Global Alert. However, claim paperwork was received by Global Alert mid-July, and final payment was received mid-October. I had initially been told to expect 20-30 days for the whole process. I would use Global Alert again, because of the full amount of the reimbursement for the missed portion of the trip.

The staff I spoke to in the process of arranging for our coverage was very helpful and informative and the process was very easy. We did not have a need to use the plan we bought so it is hard to rate our satisfaction. I can say that I felt at ease during our trip knowing that we had the coverage in case we needed it.

Fortunately, I did not have to use the insurance. It was a comfort to know that I had it in case of an emergency. Just like car and house insurance, you hope you never have to use it.
