The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
Like most people, we are very thankful we never had to use the plan. As we get older, we never leave the country without the additional security of trip insurance.

The only thing is that if there was a more clear way of communicating to your customers which phone # to call if there's a problem and there needs to be a claimed filed while in the foreign country. There are several phone numbers listed and it's not very intuitive to easily figure out which ones do what.
It's partly a graphic design issues, too, in communicating the information more fluidly.

Best part was that the coveraget wasn't needed. I did have a confident feeling that if we had an issue it would be taken care of. I really like the website for ease of comparison shopping. Will be using this service again when we travel next year.

The plan was just right for what I needed. The cost was affordable and it gave me peace of mind while abroad. Luckily I did not have a claim and cannot comment on that side of service.

6% of the Total cost of the trip is pretty expensive.
2 months is a long time to wait for reimbursement.
MUST CALL rather than track your claim online ....customer service representatives are quite competent and willing to assist!
I believe the settlement was very fair. Just be aware that booking fees and cancellation fees incurred with a wholesaler (in this case United Cruises) are not covered. Our uncovered amount was only $125.00. I would suggest booking directly with a cruise line or airline in order not to incur these charges.
