The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
It took almost 3 months from the date that my small medical claim (under $200) was filed with Global Alert with all requested attachments. I called several times and kept getting told that it is a busy time for claims, and that they "appreciate my patience". They said that they are processing claims in the order that they were received, and that my claim was still in the queue. Even when they said that they would try to expedite the claim, nothing happened.
I finally contacted insuremytrip.com about my claim. I was immediately assigned a Customer Advocate by insuremytrip. She talked with Global Alert/TripMate on my behalf, and I have finally received my check from them. It took 2 weeks from when I contacted insuremytrip until I received the check.
I am glad that I purchased the insurance through insuremytrip, since they advocate for you in case of a problem.
I have recently purchased insurance for another trip through insuremytrip - but not through Global Alert/TripMate.

Fortunately I have not had to make a claim! I have used Insure my trip many times. I love to deal them. With their knowledge I feel tat I have all the coverage I need to travel and not worry about a thing. I feel that I am taken care of. I have peace of mind in knowing that I have the necessary insurance to cover whatever comes up. I can travel, relax and enjoy!!!

I regret buying a policy from here as they have companies that use Trip Mate to "Process" claims, but they don't process the claims but just give you the run around over and over. I submitted a claim November 15 with all the correct documentation and have not been paid yet. They keep saying they mailed me a check, but constantly change the date they say they mailed it. Avoid Global Alert, Travel Safe, and TripAssure as they use this Trip Mate as a claim processor !
4-10-18 update: I finally received a check for my claim almost 5 months after submitting all the required paperwork. Insure MyTrip.com did assign an advocate to help me, but she could not find out much either, however while she was waiting to hear from them about when the check was being sent out, the check was generated and I received it today. I appreciate InsureMyTrip.com stepping up to help; I wish I had known they had someone to help back in 2017 when I started having trouble get the claim paid.

I cancelled my trip& sent claim in November. After 5 months only in April your insurance could solve my claim. I was calling many many times to check my status of claim, nobody could answer my question. I was sent from one department to another. Loosing time and emotional stress. Terrible experience. I would never recommend to buy your insurance.

Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
Your plan covered areas and coverage amounts which we wanted. It was the best price for what we wanted. I would like to see some reductions in your prices for those who have maintained good health.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our travel plans due to medical reasons. We filed a claim which was outsourced to Trip Mate for processing. We recently received our check for the claim. The claim process took about 3-4 months which seems like a long time. Otherwise, we are satisfied with the policy we purchased.
