The Global Alert Preferred plan offers comprehensive Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption coverage if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due an unforeseen covered event.
It took 5 months for my claim to be processed. That is ridiculous! I called every 2-3 weeks and every time they would say it would be completed in another 2 weeks. Crazy!

Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing [email protected], explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.
I have never filed a claim before, but the plan covered as I expected it should; took a little more effort (paperwork) than I would have hoped, but resolved in under a month. I would use again.

I purchased this plan through insuremytrip.com which enables a detailed comparison between several levels plans by different companies. I chose this plan because the coverage was wide and the price was competitive. Highly recommended.

Fortunately, I did not have to file a claim with Global Alert!, however, I called Global Alert because one of my connecting flights (a short one to NY) was cancelled at the last minute. Instead of helping me get another flight, the person who answered said he didn't know how to do that and offered to send me a claim form instead. I told him that I wanted to get a flight, not a claim form and would get back if I needed a claim form. I managed to use other resources to fix the issue, but was disappointed that the insurance company had no one to help me.

The REAL review of trip insurance coverage is the experience you have when you really need it. When you use it. How hard was it to reach someone at the company? Were they helpful or did they make you jump through hoops at a very vulnerable time of need? Did they cover the issues you experienced or drag you through a long ordeal to respond or pay? Fortunately, once again I did Not have a claim so my review would be meaningless as to my satisfaction. At this point I can only say it was a pleasant experience to deal with the agent who signed me up for the insurance and my credit card was readily charged, no problem with that. It's not possible to answer "How satisfied were you with this plan?" Or "Did the plan provide good coverage for the important items and events you wanted covered?" Well, I hope it would have if I had needed to place a claim, I have no way of knowing otherwise. I think you should ONLY send reviews for people who had a claim because otherwise my input cannot possibly reflect any satisfaction. So when I answered above that I would recommend it to a friend or relative, and pressed Yes it's just because the coverage as far as I could tell without using it appeared to be recommendable.
