This plan does not have travel or baggage delay coverage. It does not protect against damaged baggage. It offers coverage for the re-issuing of a lost passport or airline ticket, and lost unreturned luggage. These coverages are listed under the Travel Baggage section of the policy.

Luckily I did not need to use the plan so cannot pass judgement. Hopefully it would have been what was needed.

HTH Worldwide TravelGap Excursion
I can only speak to the purchase of the plan since we were fortunate enough not to use it. However, it was very easy to purchase this policy. It provided the exact coverage that we needed for this particular trip at a reasonable price. Would use this service again.

HTH Worldwide TravelGap Excursion
I ended up in a hospital with a broken back after a ski accident, and at first the advice nurse they got me in contact with was great. But then when it came time to try to get HTH to provide evidence of insurance, they refused because I had purchased the policy while not in the US (there's a clause that says insurance must be purchased before the trip begins -- I didn't interpret that as "any time you leave the US you're beginning a single trip that lasts until you get back"). While I was in the hospital, they basically shut down any appeal by saying "you can't appeal until you've filed a claim, which we'll reject". In the end, my US insurance gave me pretty good coverage, so I was OK, but it drives me crazy that they'd use the IP address of the computer I was on when I purchased the policy to deny me coverage, but *not* to prevent me from buying the useless policy!

There are a number of important factors related to “when and where” HTH Worldwide issues our insurance policies.

Firstly, TravelGap Excursion is available to U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents traveling outside of the United States. The plan is available for customers purchasing in approved U.S. states. HTH Worldwide does not hold licenses to sell insurance products outside of the United States. As such, in certain circumstances it can be a violation of foreign insurance law to issue a policy when a customer is already overseas.

Secondly, TravelGap Excursion is unique because it covers pre-existing medical conditions up to the policy maximum.. In order to offer such comprehensive benefits, it is important that customers buy the insurance prior to trip departure. If HTH were not to enforce this requirement, we could be adversely selected against. Some travelers could potentially wait until they became sick or injured before they purchased a plan.

Finally, HTH Worldwide offers a refund of premium for customers who are ineligible for TravelGap Excursion. If you have not received a refund, please contact HTH Worldwide.
