The HTH TravelGap Excursion is a single-trip medical plan, covering trips up to 180 days in length. To be eligible for benefits, you must be enrolled in a primary health insurance plan.
The plan offers coverage for pre-existing conditions as well as flexibility with medical limits and deductibles, allowing you to select both. With medical limits ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000, you will most likely find a level of coverage that you are comfortable with and best fits your needs.
The plan also includes the Direct Billing program. If you choose a provider within the HTH elite provider network and inform them 24 hours or more prior to the appointment, (or use HTH representatives to make the appointment for you) they may pay for your medical care up front. This can help you avoid a claims process.
Along with medical coverage, this plan offers emergency medical evacuation. This would provide coverage for the cost of medical evacuation in the event your medical care provider deems that you must be transported to the nearest appropriate hospital for treatment of a covered illness or injury. You are also given access to many medical and security services, where you can get information regarding security alerts and doctors at your destination. This will help you stay prepared with travel alerts and health warnings in the area.
This plan does have some travel-related reimbursement coverages, although they don’t match the level of the comprehensive plans available from HTH. These limited benefits allow reimbursement up to $500 to offset the cost of having to change an airline ticket if you trip is interrupted for medical reasons, a terrorist event, or an imminent threat to your personal safety. You can find all the details in the full certificate.
You must not have yet departed on your trip to be eligible for coverage. This coverage is only available prior to your departure of the United States.
