    This policy has the following coverage for Missed Connection:
    "If You miss Your cruise or tour departure because Your arrival at Your Trip destination is delayed for six (6) or more hours, due to:
    (a) any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier);
    (b) documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure;
    (c) quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot.
    We will reimburse You, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, for:
    (a) Your Additional Transportation Cost to join Your Trip; and
    (b) Your Prepaid expenses for the unused land or water Travel Arrangements; and
    (c) reasonable accommodation and meal expenses up to one hundred twenty-five dollars (125USD) per day necessarily incurred by You for which You have proof of purchase and which were not paid for or provided by any other source.
    Your delayed arrival must be due to:
    (a) any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier);
    (b) documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure;
    (c) quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot.

    These benefits will not duplicate any other benefits payable under the Policy or any coverage(s) attached to the Policy."

    This policy has the following coverage for Travel Delay:

    "Benefits will be paid up to one hundred twenty-five dollars (125USD) per day for: reasonable accommodation, meal, telephone call and local transportation expenses incurred by You, up to the Maximum Benefit Amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits, if You are delayed for twelve (12) hours or more while enroute to or from, or during Your Trip, due to:
    (a) any delay of a Common Carrier (the delay must be certified by the Common Carrier);
    (b) a traffic accident in which You or Your Traveling Companion is not directly involved (must be substantiated by a police report);
    (c) lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money (must be substantiated by a police report);
    (d) quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot;
    (e) a documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure."

    Although the coverage may be provided by this plan, the iTravelInsured SE plan only provides Financial Default under Trip Cancellation if you purchased this plan within 20 days of your initial trip payment:

    "Trip Cancellation -

    Benefits will be paid up to the Maximum Benefit Amount purchased to cover an Insured for the non-refundable Published Penalties and prepaid expenses for Travel Arrangements when an Insured is prevented from taking his or her Covered Trip due to:

    ---

    6. Bankruptcy or Default of an airline, cruise line, tour operator, or Travel Supplier (other than the tour operator or travel agency from whom the Insured purchased their Travel Arrangements) which stops service more than 14 days following the Insured’s Effective Date. Benefits will be paid due to Bankruptcy or Default of an airline only if no alternate transportation is available. If alternate transportation is available, benefits will be limited to the change fee charged to allow the Insured to transfer to another airline in order to get to the Insured’s intended destination. This benefit only applies if the policy has been purchased within 20 days of the Insured’s initial payment for the Covered Trip and for the full cost of the Covered Trip..."

    Since you made your initial trip payment on 09/02/2017 but did not buy this policy until 03/14/2018, you had no coverage for Financial Default under this policy.

I did not have to use any policy benefits so can’t speak to the coverage. It DID give me peace of mind, believing that if I got into a medical crisis I would have funding for medical care.

Fortunately we didn't need to file a claim but were at ease because of the coverage we purchased. We purchase coverage mostly for the medical coverage when we travel internationally.

We had the unfortunate need to actually use our IMG service while traveling in Australia. My husband had to be admitted to the hospital for a severe reaction to a jellyfish sting. The customer service representatives were available to answer our questions both times we called (even though it was a weekend and we were in Australian time zone) and were very helpful and friendly. We were so happy to have purchased such a high-quality plan! I should note that while we did use the benefits of the plan, the hospital took care of the claim filing. We have not heard any problems with the claim filing so it seems to have all gone smoothly. You will not regret purchasing this plan, although I hope you won't have to use it!
