This plan offers Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption, as well as many other coverages including Missed Connection and Itinerary Change. These coverages could come in handy if a covered common carrier delay causes you to miss your cruise departure or if your travel supplier changes your covered trip itinerary after your departure date.

When comparing trip insurance, I found that the John Hancock plan was more comprehensive for a slightly lower price than comparable companies I had insured with in the past. Thankfully, I did not need to file any claims for my trip so I cannot comment on how good the coverage actually was.

As we gratefully did not have to use our plan, we really have no criteria to evaluate how well it would have worked. What did work was that we had peace of mind while we were traveling and that is worth a lot!

How can you be satisfied or dissatisfied with something you've never used? Like all insurance products, the odds are in favor of the insurer and with travel insurance in particular, it is probably used to offset the costs of other products that actually have to pay out. Entirely too expensive.!

    Comprehensive policy premiums are rated based on the age of the traveler, his/her trip cost and the length of the trip. Since we offer plans from more than 25 of the leading providers of travel insurance, the pricing also varies by plan. Generally, the more expensive plans offer the broadest benefits with some exceptions.

InsureMyTrip was very easy to use for securing a healthcare inly policy for my son heading off to Europe on a post graduation trip.

Contacted customer service via live chat and they followed up with options available for the type of coverage I wanted. No trip cancellation needed so you simply put $0 in the field asking for cost of trip.

I just purchased another policy for myself and sons as we head off to England for an opening day football match in Manchester.

Hopefully won't need the insurance and will be writing another positive review in a months time.

My husband became ill while on our trip. This policy covered the hospital bill that our US insurance didn't cover. It also covered the excursions we could not take, the cost of taxi to the hospital and back , and even covered our portion of a rental car that we did not get to use.These were all the things we had asked for reimbursement. Professional, prompt. I would purchase a plan from them again. It did take 6 months to get everything settled, so keep that in mind--we had traveled internationally. A big slow down was actually our regular insurance company--I had to submit info that showed how much my personal medical insurance company covered before John Hancock would pursue the claim.

Note: It would be a good idea to print off the forms you might need and take them with you.That way the forms can be completed by the doctor while you are still at the hospital. I did not do that, and had to get the ER doc to write a letter instead. John Hancock DID accept the letter and worked with us, hassle free.
