The Silver plan is the mid-level policy offered by John Hancock and may be ideal for families traveling with children, as kids 17 and under are free as long as one parent is covered under the plan. Coverage is offered if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a typical covered reason which can range from an unforeseen illness, injury or death to your destination being made uninhabitable by a natural disaster. The Silver plan does offer higher limits of coverage than the Bronze plan for Baggage, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

My trip needed to be cancelled which should have been covered under the "cancel for any reason" provision that I paid for. I submitted all of the documents asked for and received a response that they were received. It's 2 months later and finally a settlement. The coverage may be OK for the price, but the customer service is very poor. Think twice about purchasing this plan.

Although we were fortunate enough to not need to file a claim, it was reassuring to know we were covered for any unforseen issues. We will utilize insuremytrip.com for our future travels.

I filed a claim under the cancellation clause due to COVID infection. I was directed to portal to file paperwork kept receiving emails to submit paperwork after each submission. No direct email to agent or support.

The claims process is very cumbersome. Still going back and forth on the docs we submitted and should not be so time consuming. And we have coverage for 'Cancel for any Reason'. What is the point of having insurance in the first place? Defeats the purpose. Would not recommended.

Excellent process to obtain travel insurance and very reasonable price for 3 people going on a cruise. Good options for medical (primary) coverage and other items per our needs.
