In business since 1926, Nationwide focuses on providing the best possible service for its customers. Nationwide travel insurance plans offer a range of innovative benefits for a variety of travel needs.
The industry standard is for travel insurance providers to offer the pre-existing condition waiver if you purchase their policy within 10 to 21 days (depending on plan) of your initial trip payment. There are some exceptions such as the Nationwide Mutual Choice or Luxury Cruise plans which go by final payment:
"The Pre-Existing Conditions exclusion is waived if the Insured (a) enrolls in this Policy within Final Trip payment; (b) purchases this Policy for the full cost of his or her Trip; and (c) is medically able to travel at the time the premium is paid."
Unfortunately you purchased this Choice Cruise plan on 01/29/2019 which was the day after you made your final payment, so you did not qualify for the Pre-Existing Conditions Waiver.
InsureMyTrip is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Customer Care is available to assist you by phone at 800-487-4722, or by chat, Monday - Friday, 7am-12am EST and Saturday - Sunday, 9am-9pm EST.
Trip cancellation, interruption and delay are very specific per each policy. Be sure to read the fine print as to when they take in effect so as not to be disappointed later when a claim is not paid. Sadly, Nationwide would not cover our trip delay expenses because the delay was not 6 hours or more.

Travelers will find that every Comprehensive plan makes basic trip cancellation coverage available that will extend coverage for the cancellation of a trip for specific unforeseen, covered reasons. Commonly, travel insurance plans, such as the Nationwide Essential plan, will cover reasons such as:
The unexpected death, illness, or injury of you and/or a traveling companion that deems you unfit to travel, by order of a licensed physician;
The hospitalization or death of a non-traveling family member;
Weather or common carrier related issues that causes your common carrier to cease operations for 24 hours;
Unforeseen natural disasters at home or the destination; and
A legal obligation, such as being called for jury duty or to appear as a witness in court. However, we recommend that you review the covered reasons in your certificate since they do vary from plan to plan.
Travel Delay under the Nationwide Essential plan does reimburse the traveler for your incurred expenses but only after a six hour delay for a
Hazard which means:
"a) Any delay of a Common Carrier (including Inclement Weather).
b) Any delay by a traffic accident en route to a departure, in which You or a Traveling Companion is not directly involved.
c) Any delay due to lost or stolen passports, travel documents or money, quarantine, hijacking, unannounced Strike,
natural disaster, civil commotion or riot.
d) A closed roadway causing cessation of travel to the destination of the Covered Trip (substantiated by the department of transportation, state police, etc.)"
InsureMyTrip encourages all customers to the certificate which is attached to each quote prior to purchasing.
Really can’t tell how satisfied you are with the coverage until it is necessary to file a claim and there is no difficulty collecting the coverages you think you purchased.

We take several things into consideration when we compare cost of travel insurance. We look at coverage, price, ratings by previous clients and the overall company rating. This plan was what we needed at a competitive price with a well known company like Nationwide. We will consider them again for our next trip.

the plan for the most part was fine and provided us with most of the coverages we needed. What it didn't cover and we could not find anywhere was excess insurance coverage, aka deducible, for the camper van we rented in the UK. This left us potentially liable for up to and including 1,200 Pounds in the event of an accident.

There is no coverage under the Rental Car coverage for camper vans in the Nationwide Essential plan. However, coverage for camper vans is generally excluded under the Rental Car coverage in all Comprehensive plans.
Thankfully, I did not have to use the insurance for any purpose. As most people know, you never truly know how good your insurance is until you must use it; it is then that you find out how easy it is to use and what exactly they will cover. So, I can't really say how good it was. The ratings would be more useful coming from people who actually had to use it for some reason. I can only say that I felt more comfortable traveling by myself knowing that I had insurance which I believed would cover me if the worst happened.
