I'm so glad I had this travel insurance in place. A few days before our trip I was diagnosed with a rare cancer. This was a complete shock as I was in great health. I remember telling the agent that I'd have to be dead not to take this trip, it was such an important event for us, a real "bucket list" thing. Fortunately, my doctors all agreed that taking the trip was perfectly fine and we could deal with the needed surgery afterwards. The peace of mind this policy gave me was invaluable, even though I did not end up needing to make a claim.

Very dissatisfied with the Nationwide coverage. They used a "fine print" detail to deny my claim. The travel company I used closed its business and my trip was canceled. But the company has not filed for bankruptcy and that was the excuse used to deny the claim. I provided ample documentation of the business closure but that was insufficient to approve the claim. I would never recommend Nationwide to anyone.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We appreciate you using InsureMyTrip for your travel insurance needs. We understand that it is never pleasant to receive a denial for reimbursement under the Trip Cancellation coverage. However, your reason to cancel your trip must be specifically stated as a covered reason in the policy. The Financial Default benefit only applies if the policy has been purchased within ten (10) days of Your initial payment for the Covered Trip and you insure the full cost of the Covered Trip.

Unfortunately my trip was interrupted with the flu. We were restricted to our stateroom for two days.
This insurance paid for all medical costs on the ship as well as two days of the ship's fare while we were restricted.
Very pleased with the plan. It took a bit over 30 days to receive payment, but that's to be expected with any insurance plan.

Should provide easy to read list of necessary documents needed if a claim is to be processed at the time of review/purchase. Would be easier to understand than to look into fine print etc.
